The 2022 Super Duty® features strong performance with a powerful lineup of available engines. There's the available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel which features 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque as well as the available 7.3L gas V8, which features the best gas power ratings in its class. *

7.3L OHV PFI GAS V8

Design a gas-powered V8 built for strenuous duty, hauling heavy loads day in and day out, with commercial-grade durability, performance and efficiency and you get the port fuel-injected 7.3L. This pushrod V8 design optimizes low-end torque, and the variable-cam timing helps to optimize high-output power. And for the durability also required, the 7.3L features a cast-iron block with four-bolt and cross-bolted main bearings plus a forged-steel crankshaft. Want the largest, most powerful gas V8, rated at 430 hp and 475 lbs.-ft of torque, in a heavy-duty pickup?* This is it.

6.7L POWER STROKE® V8 TURBO DIESEL ENGINE

The available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel features a 36,000-psi fuel-injection system, featuring injectors that can atomize fuel up to eight times per stroke to optimize combustion. It also features stronger block, cylinder heads, connector rods and bearings, plus forged-steel pistons, which means 475 hp and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm. It produces maximum horsepower at a lower RPM than any other engine at 2,600 rpm.* Finally, the engine features an electric-actuated variable-geometry turbocharger that improves throttle response and efficiency.

6.2L FLEX-FUEL GAS V8

The 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8 is the standard engine in F-250 and F-350 models. It's engineered to deliver peak torque at lower rpm and generates high torque throughout the midrange of the power band. The SOHC valvetrain with roller-rocker shafts results in a stiff valvetrain with an optimized intake and exhaust port layout for better breathing. The 6.2L in the F-250 is teamed up with the TorqShift® G 6-speed transmission; in the F-350, it features the 10-speed automatic.

TORQSHIFT® 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

All Super Duty®models (except the 6.2L V8 F-250) feature a standard TorqShift® 10-speed automatic transmission, engineered to optimize drive ratios and improve shift performance. You can choose from five selectable modes - Normal, Slippery, Tow-Haul, Eco, Deep Sand/Snow and, with the available Tremor Package, an additional Rock Crawl mode. Ford is the only manufacturer to design and build all of its heavy-duty engine and transmission combinations - ensuring the powertrain works seamlessly with all chassis components and vehicle calibrations.

Outfit a Super Duty® 4x4 Crew Cab with the available Tremor Off-Road Package and make the off-road performance of today's premier heavy-duty pickup even better. * Choose the available 6.7L Power Stroke®; Turbo Diesel or the available 7.3L OHV gas V8, each with top-rated horsepower. ** The package includes 35-inch maximum-traction tires and off-road tuned front and rear suspension (including custom 1.7-inch twin-tube dampers), as well as all-terrain handling features like selectable Rock Crawl and Trail Control™ modes. The Super Duty®  has the only high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body in its class. * Aluminum alloy is substantially lighter than the previous steel body, yet it's remarkably strong. It's also more dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to rust. Use of aluminum alloy allowed some of the weight savings to be reinvested where it matters the most, especially in the frame that's the foundation of strength and toughness.
